Had my second zero day with my parents today, went for a ride over the Blue Ridge and hung out by the Rapidan River. My dad was able to get in some fly fishing. We had dinner and came back to the hotel, watched a hockey game and did laundry.
Looking forward to getting back on the trail first thing tomorrow morning. I'm well-fed, well-rested, and ready to to finish off Virginia. Excelsior!
Great drive up the mountain to the Rapidan. All native brook trout in that section. Fly-fishing the pools of a boulder-strewn mountain stream was a new experience for this old Michigan stream fisherman. Thanks for coaxing me into it during our visit! Only one caught(and released of course) but the total mountain stream experience was what it was all about. Mom loved the environs as well.
