Solid hiking day. Today I could really feel how well-conditioned I've become. Terrain was rocky and a few climbs were involved but I was able to push through it all without straining myself. I took only a few breaks and kept an even pace, the heat and bugs notwithstanding. I'm enjoying the long days with plenty of daylight. It gives me the freedom to get up early and hike into the evening.
The next few days should prove difficult; extremely rocky terrain and hot weather lie ahead. I may see a decrease in daily mileage for the duration of the trail in Pennsylvania.
